Open loop commercial solar hot water system

Open loop commercial solar hot water system is a solar system which demand the system in open loop (non-pressurized) situation. Most important thing is that when working in installation, make sure to leave air vent and no block on it.

For commercial use solar heating system, the system capacity usually more than 1-ton hot water, we can consider to use “compact type solar water heater “series in connect for working. But mostly we adopt the central heating system, we adopt a lot of solar collectors, and tank are split design, not complete with collector as compact unite.

We usually adopt following equipment :

solar collector (including non-pressurized or pressurized)

Non-pressurized solar water heater (project use)

Controller (commercial use type)

Most popular application for open loop solar system, we choose non-pressurized solar collector which advantage in economic.

 

This economic solar collector hot water system is composed by solar collector 、pipeline、circulation pump、controller system. It is active circulation system ,it has multi-functional control system. It is more and more popular in the market.

Its main feature: 

Takes less installation area 

Easy for achieve the multi-function control 

Saving the cost

System process as below

a).Controller system display tank water and collector temperature

b).Automatic filling water by ball valve assistant tank or by controller through water level sensor and magnetic valve.

c).Temperature difference control .Setting the tank and collector temperature difference as ΔT, when temperature more than ΔT,the circulation works to push the collector hot water to exchange the tank water .While the temperature drop down under ΔT, the circulation pump stops. This way will routine until sun down.

d).Pipeline circulation: In order to supply hot water immediately ,when pipeline temperature lower then setting valve, circulation pump works to exchange the hot water from tank to pipeline.

e).Heating Equipment controller: there will be backup heating equipment, when there is no sun energy or lower solar energy , the heating equipment works to heating the water tank unitil reaching the setting temperature.

f).Anti-frozen circulation: Purpose to protect the collector pipeline.When extrem cold , circulation will circulate the hot water from tank to collector for protection purpose.

It is common used for hospital ,school, factory ,spa and other commercial usage. Now in China a lot of project is applied for saving energy and usually this system is combined with air source heat pump for steady hot water supply.
